Ingredients

  • 8 cups filtered water (meaning we’ll use 4 cups for brewing and 4 cups for after brewing)
  • 1/4 cup hibiscus flower tea (I use this loose leaf tea)
  • 5 large lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or sweeten to taste)

Instructions

  1. Place 4 cups of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add sugar and stir to dissolve. Remove from heat and add hibiscus flower loose leaf tea and steep for 5-10 minutes.

  2. Carefully pour tea through a fine mesh strainer into a large glass pitcher and add remaining water. Allow tea to cool.

  3. Add juice from 5 large lemons. I like using a commercial juicer as it gets the job done quickly and filters out all the lemon seeds. The juicer I use is usually out of stock but there are other comparable versions you can check out here.

  4. Serve your freshly brewed hibiscus tea lemonade into a large glass filled with ice and enjoy!
