Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw pepitas
  • 1 cup raw unsalted sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup golden flax seed
  • 1/4 cup organic chia seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon Cajun Spice or favorite spice of your choice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (if your favorite spice contains salt as an ingredient do not add salt to this recipe)
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients

Place all seeds, salt and seasoning into a large bowl. Add water and stir to combine. Let sit for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.

  2. Prepare Baking Sheets

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper. Divide mixture in half and place on baking sheet covered with parchment.

  3. Bake

Use a spatula and spread seeds out thinly and evenly on baking sheets making sure there are no open areas or holes. Bake in preheated oven for one hour.

  4. Cut Crackers

Carefully remove baked crackers from oven and transfer the full cracker sheet to a cutting board. Use a sharp knife and gently press down to make cuts. It’s not really necessary to cut the crackers because they can easily be broken into pieces. But, if you’re anything like me and want perfectly shaped crackers then make the cut! Wink Wink!

If you want crispier crackers place cut pieces back on the baking sheet and return to oven and bake for 5 more minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then turn oven off, slightly open the oven door and allow crackers to remain in the oven to cool.

Serve crackers on your favorite platter or maybe you’d like to serve them on a compostable palm leaf biodegradable plate. Store leftover crackers in a tight closed container.
