You talk about a refreshing drink that will definitely cool you off on a hot summers day! You’ve got to try this Lemon Lime Italian Ice recipe!
Pour lemon and lime juice into blender. Add granulated sugar and blend for about 15 seconds. Add ice to blender and blend on high for about 3 minutes or until mixture is slushy and free from chunky ice. If the mixture is too thick it is okay to add about 1/2 cup water and continue blending. Pour mixture into a freezer safe pan. Add zest to mixture and stir well until combined. Place pan in freezer and freeze for 1-hour.
If the mixture should freeze solid then remove the pan from the freezer and place on countertop for about 10 minutes before attempting to serve. Oh yeah, be sure to serve this lemon lime Italian ice with a straw AND a spoon and garnish with a sugar coated lime slice (optional but highly recommended). Enjoy!
NOTE: This beverage can be served right after blending if desired.
