Ingredients

  • 5 Apples I used Red Delicious
  • 1-2 cups water or just enough to cover top of apples

Instructions

  1. Clean apples with a veggie cleaner.

  2. Now that the apples are cleaned then it's time to cut and remove skins or remove skin and then cut. Whichever you prefer. As for me, I like to cut my apples first then remove the skins. After each apple is cut and skinned place it in a pot of water so they don't start turning brown.

  3. All done? Drain the water from the apples. Place in a pan with just enough water to barely cover the apples. Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 25-30 minutes or until desired tenderness.
  4. Once apples have reached the desired tenderness remove from heat. Using a potato masher mash apples to desired consistency. If preferred, place in a food processor or blender for a smooth applesauce.
  5. That's all there is to it! Let apples cool prior to eating. Store in a closed container in the refrigerator and
  6. Optional: To spice things up add a bit of cinnamon. If you must, you can add sweetener of choice.
