Ingredients

  • 4-5 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cups buffalo sauce (or 12 ounce jar)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 small yellow onion chopped finely
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch
  • carrot and celery sticks optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare Wings

Prepare wings by cutting into sections and place in slow cooker. Sprinkle with onion and garlic powder and toss to coat evenly.

  2. Prepare Buffalo Marinade Sauce

In a medium bowl combineĀ buffalo sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, onion, garlic and your favorite BBQ sauce and stir until completely combined.

Pour entire mixture over wings in the slow cooker and stir making sure all wings are coated.

  3. Slow Cook

Cover slow cooker and cook wings on high for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

After 3 hours the wings should be very tender. You can stop here and dish up the wings but I highly recommend the next step.

  4. Brown Wings

Remove wings from slow cooker and place on a baking sheet covered with foil and sprayed with cooking spray.

Place wings in oven and broil until they begin to brown. Then flip over and brown other side. Remove from oven and set aside.

Remove 3 cups of the sauce from the slow cooker and place in a medium pan. Add 2 teaspoons corn starch and whisk into the sauce and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes. The sauce should thicken up.

Then using a kitchen baster, brush thickened sauce over browned chicken wings and return to oven and broil for about 2-3 minutes.

Remove from oven, serve with celery and carrot sticks and your favorite sauce. Enjoy!
