A Wings A Wing Is A Wing

I never knew this before but a chicken wing has certain named anatomy.

The parts of a chicken wing include the drumette, wingette, and the tip.

Most times when purchasing chicken wings they are already cut into sections. But, there may be times where you come across a full wing.

I prefer to buy the whole wing and divide the sections myself by cutting with kitchen shears or chopping them with a cleaver. I will make one cut between the drumette and wingette and leave the tip attached. Either way, a chicken wing is a chicken wing.

Sauces for Chicken Wings

When serving chicken wings it is not mandatory to serve any type of sauce since they are coated in a buffalo wing sauce.

But, if you must, the rule of thumb and most times buffalo chicken wings are served with a side bowl of Buffalo Wing Sauce, Ranch Dressing or Blue Cheese Dressing.

As a food blogger you would think I would have a recipe for my own sauces. Well, I do for my blue cheese dressing (not yet posted) but for the Ranch Dressing I have been using this dressing mix for years.

Remove wings from slow cooker and place on a baking sheet covered with foil and sprayed with cooking spray.

Place wings in oven and broil until they begin to brown. Then flip over and brown other side. Remove from oven and set aside.

Remove 3 cups of the sauce from the slow cooker and place in a medium pan. Add 2 teaspoons corn starch and whisk into the sauce and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes. The sauce should thicken up.
