Country. Courage. Coffee.

America’s Boldest Blends for America’s Greatest Heroes.

American Flag

Jeff Cercy, the founder of American Heroes Coffee Company, reached out to Jett’s Kitchen asking if I would be interested in providing his coffee a review. I gladly accepted his offer and in return he sent me a free 12 ounce bag of coffee of my choice.

Before I accepted his offer I wanted to check out his website and this is what I found.

Website: American Heroes Coffee Company

Mission: Celebrating the courage and commitment of our veterans, armed forces and first responders with every cup of coffee.

I love the fact that American Heroes Coffee Company gives back to our Veterans by donating 20% of their net profits to charities aligned with their mission.

Assignment: Support the needs of veterans, armed forces, first responders and their families by sponsoring and supporting events, as well as donating 20% of our net profits to charities aligned with our mission.

The Founder: Jeff Cercy is the founder of American Heroes Coffee Company. What makes his company unique is that he has a military family history and has a strong desire to help give back, increase the public awareness of what all veterans and first responders do daily and to provide those “Heroes” with business opportunities where he can.   This is the primary goal and reason for working with his partner to start American Heroes Coffee Company.

Ground or Whole Bean Coffee?

Before I get to the part of offering my full review of American Heroes Coffee Company it is very important to let you know their coffee is available in either ground or whole beans.

American Heroes Coffee Company Ground or Whole Bean Coffee

In my kitchen we make two different kinds of coffee’s. For me, I like and use a pod coffee and my husband likes fresh ground whole bean drip coffee. Since the American Heroes Coffee Company has a focus on veterans I decided to get a coffee for my husband since after all he is a veteran. I chose the 12 ounce Liberty Blend Coffee 100% Arabica Whole Bean which is their Signature Medium Blend.

First Impressions

I promptly received my coffee packed very well in a nice sturdy box. When I opened the box it revealed the Liberty Blend Whole Bean coffee I agreed to review.

It was carefully packed and surrounded by brown packing paper so it would be protected from damage during shipment. I inspected the bag prior to opening. It had a matte finish with a high quality glossy label in place.

Also enclosed inside the box was a nice handwritten short note on company letterhead addressed to Jett’s Kitchen thanking me for the collaboration.

As the saying goes, you never get a second chance to make a first impression and I was impressed with the presentation of the coffee. Plus, throwing in a nice handwritten letter says alot for a company as far as I am concerned.

Inspecting the Coffee Packaging

Before opening the bag I inspected it. The coffee beans were packaged in a heavy foil-lined bag with a one-way valve. You know, the type of valve that is positioned on the front of coffee bags where one would grab a bag of coffee, squeeze the bag with their nose near it to get a whiff of the goods inside? Yeah! Well, I did just that! I stuck the bag right up to my nose, squeezed it and took a big whiff! Ahh…the wonderful smell of coffee beans.

After getting that wonderful aromatic smell of fresh coffee I could hardly wait to open the foil bag and make my first cup of American Heroes Coffee.

Inspecting the Coffee Beans

After grabbing my kitchen scissors and carefully opening the bag of coffee beans I again stuck my nose up to the opened bag taking a big whiff. Yep, it sure did smell good!

Smell is not the only sense going to take place here. I carefully poured a few beans into the palm of my hand. The beans were full formed and had a beautiful sheen to them.

I popped one coffee bean into my mouth. It had a nice light crunch with a bold flavor. Although I don’t have a recipe yet, I can definitely see myself creating a recipe in the near future for chocolate covered coffee beans! Be sure to stay tuned for that up and coming recipe!

Making Fresh Ground Coffee With American Heroes Coffee Beans

Since I got the whole bean coffee, I filled my see-through container on my coffee grinder with the Liberty Blend coffee beans received from American Heroes Coffee Company. I manually turned the dial so it would grind the beans for seven seconds. That is the amount of time I grind beans to make one cup of coffee.

I placed the freshly ground coffee in the single-serve filter of my coffee maker, added water to the back and began brewing the coffee.

The aroma of freshly ground coffee brewing is one of the most wonderful ways to waking up your senses and American Heroes Coffee definitely does not disappoint.

My American Hero

Since deciding to giving this coffee a review and doing so with my husband in mind, and since he IS a veteran, I decided I would let him give his review on the Liberty Blend coffee from American Heroes Coffee first.

The Taste Test Results

I made a cup of Liberty Blend coffee for my husband. I fixed it the way he likes it by adding 1 teaspoon of sugar and some Coffee Mate Creamer. His response was as follows:

This is some of the best coffee I have ever tasted. It not only smells good brewing but it tastes great too!

As for me, I am more of a dark roast cappuccino coffee drinker but I wanted to give it a try so I could give a fair review. I prepared myself a cup of Liberty Blend coffee but I just made mine black.

Normally, I don’t drink my coffee black but this Liberty Blend coffee is very good. It has a smooth bold taste. I like it! I will definitely recommend this coffee to my family, friends and readers.
