Here’s a recipe for a simple and easy chimichurri sauce that will make your tastebuds ask for more with every bite.

This recipe uses simple ingredients which include olive oil, red wine vinegar that adds a tangy flavor, fresh parsley, fresh pressed garlic cloves, dried oregano (if you have fresh oregano use that), crushed red pepper flakes for its zesty flavor, and salt and pepper.

What’s the secret to a good chimichurri sauce?

Make an excellent chimichurri sauce by using fresh herb ingredients which include flat parsley leaves (skip the stems as they may add bitterness), fresh oregano if possible but dried will work fine and hand chopping the herbs. I like using this curved herb chopper that comes with its own cutting board not only with this recipe but any of my recipes that use fresh chopped herbs like chopping rosemary in my Favorite Mushroom Gravy Recipe.

What do you serve with chimichurri sauce?

Chimichurri is a famous garlicky herbal green sauce that originated in Argentina and Uruguay. I began making this recipe when the Federation Internationale de Football Association, FIFA World Cup 2026, came to the United States of America and I was introduced to picanha steaks. Chimichurri sauce tastes great drizzled on grilled chicken, beef, or sausages to even grilled or roasted veggies and breads. I usually serve chimichurri sauce on the side of grilled picanha and leave a bowl on the table so guests can add it to their plate as desired.

The Truth About Measuring Fresh Garlic According To Jett’s Kitchen

Jetts fresh garlic clove measurements.

Since garlic cloves vary in sizes I’ve come up with a consistent measurement. So, when a recipe calls for garlic cloves I always use this garlic press 1) because its easy and efficient 2) its comfortable and 3) it extracts all the garlic leaving the skins behind.

For one clove of garlic I fill the entire chamber with fresh garlic cloves and press. It’s that simple and I highly recommend this press. I’ve used mine for years! Note: this is not a paid promotion.
