Top Five Cookbooks!

Millions of home cooks refer to some sort of literature for special ingredients, best recipes, how-to cooking tips, or step-by-step videos.

Below are a few of my favorite goto’s

Cook’s Illustrated Cookbook

Cook's Illustrated Cookbook

Cook’s Illustrated is an American cooking magazine. It is published every two months by the America’s Test Kitchen company in Massachusetts. It is full of great information even for the novice cook.  A major perk is that it contains no advertising.

I could thumb through the pages of this magazine and never find the same thing twice. It is chuck-full of great recipes. Cook’s test recipes until they get it right and then they share with the world. You can also find equipment reviews that include cookware, kitchen tools & gadgets.

The Cook’s Illustrated Cookbook should be in every kitchen.

The King Arthur Flour: Baker’s Companion

The ALL-PURPOSE Baking Cookbook

The King Arthur Flour Baker's Companion

It’s true what the cover says, “No home baker should be without The King Arthur Flour Baker’s Companion”.

All of King Arthur recipes are tested by their inhouse bakers before publishing in the cookbooks. That way you can bake without fear of “will this recipe turn out?”. Another thing, King Arthur has a Hot Line available so if you ever come across a question with any of their recipes someone is always just a phone call away.   I call that class!

Mastering the Art of French Cooking

By Julia Child, Louisette Bertholle, and Simone Beck

Julia Child Mastering the Art of French Cooking

Many French savory recipes call for wine, not cooking wines but full bodied wines. I am not a big drinker but I will add a nice wine to my recipes if called for. There are many recipes I like in this cookbook but one of my favorites is the Beef Bourguignon. I like this recipe the best because this is a dish Nial likes to make and it comes out w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l!

Why is this cookbooks one of my favorites? Well, who doesn’t want to make a French dish! After all, I love saying what Julia always says, “Bon Appetit!”.
