Homemade Holiday Cranberry Sauce

Spice up your table with this Holiday Cranberry Sauce recipe.

Cranberries

Ingredients:

  • 1 (12 ounce) bag of fresh cranberries
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
  • 4 allspice berries
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cups water
  • Grated zest from 1 orange

Instructions:

  1. Add cranberries to a colander and rinse. Remove any berries that do not look fresh.
  2. Place cloves, cinnamon stick and allspice berries in a spice bag.Spice Bag
  3. In a medium sauce pan add water, sugar and spice bag and stir until syrup is clear. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add cranberries and cook. Berries will begin popping. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove pan from heat. Discard spice bag. Use microplane to grate orange zest. Add to mixture and cool.Orange Zest
  6. Refrigerate 1 to 3 days before serving.
  7. Enjoy!
