DIY Project; Making Little Bowls Out of Mint Candy

Make super cute little do-it-yourself (DIY) mint candy bowls using 19 peppermints and or spearmints. Mix and match to make unique designed bowls.

This mint candy bowl is a fun little project for adults to make. Since the mints require heating in the oven and can be extremely hot after baking, this do-it-yourself project is not recommended for children.

Although, these cute little bowls make a perfect gift for both children and adults.

Beware: the kiddo’s will actually love these bowls. I consider this as a magical project!

Making mint candy bowls are fun! They make for a cute way of gift giving something little and everyone will love them.

Well, don’t give them all away. Be sure to save one or two for yourself. They are perfect for holding little candy kisses or other favorite wrapped candies for display.

Making Mint Candy Bowls

Ingredients and Supplies:

  • 19 mints per bowl (peppermint and or spearmint)
  • parchment paper (cut to size)
  • baking pan
  • oven mitts
  • small smooth glass bowl for molding/shaping

Directions:

Heat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheight. Only make one bowl at a time.

If mints are covered in cellophane wrapping remove the wrapper and discard.

Put parchment paper on baking pan and place one mint in the center.

Arrange six mints around the center mint so they are all touching.

Then place twelve mints around the outside mints making sure all mints are touching.

Carefully move baking pan to oven and bake for 5 to 7 minutes. I highly recommend keeping a close eye on the mints around the 5 minute marker while baking.

When the mints appear to soften and slightly go limp go ahead and remove baking pan from the oven.

Wearing oven mitts carefully lift up parchment paper with mints and place over an inverted smooth glass bowl and shape while wearing mitts. I used a glass sugar bowl like this.

After the mints have cooled a bit remove oven mitts. Continue shaping, remove parchment paper and gently twist to remove candies from glass bowl.

The mints may slightly lose their shape while removing from glass bowl. Just continue to reshape while mints are warm.
