This is an easy recipe for butter flavored waffle pretzels with a little bit of melted milk chocolate and dredged in chopped nuts.
Instead of making completely chocolate covered pretzels this recipe only dips half the pretzel in melted milk chocolate and covers the chocolate with nuts. That way you’ll get the salty butter flavor of the pretzel along with the nutty and sweet chocolate flavor of the chocolate.
Something About Jett’s Kitchen
As I write this post, November 18, 2023, I reflect on the past twelve months of sorrowful events that have touched our personal lives. It has been a rough year for our family and I sure hope the coming year brings happier moments. We have had a family member recently diagnosed with cancer and is receiving treatment. We’ve had eight deaths that have surrounded us that includes family and friends. We have been mourning the loss of two of my aunts, a younger cousin, a uncle, my dad, Suzie (our dog), my father-in-law and Nial’s barber. I write this not looking for sympathy but to raise awareness that we all have “things” going on in our lives and that we should be kind to those around us because not everyone opens the door and shares what is going on in their life. Everyone has battles of their own and deals with them differently. So please, be kind and give someone a true heart felt compliment today. Love Always, Jett xoxo ❤️❤️❤️

Chocolate Waffle Pretzels Recipe
This recipe can easily make approximately 120 pretzels or fifteen snack bags. And if you want to make more just double the recipe.
Ingredients
- 7 ounces milk chocolate chips (I bought 12 ounces but only used 7 ounces)
- 1 Tablespoon lard (divided)
- 6 ounce bag pecan halves chopped
- 16 ounce bag Butter Waffle Pretzels (not all pretzels will be used with this recipe)
Instructions
Set up your work station
Prepare a baking pan lined with wax paper. Place chopped nuts in a bowl and place half the bag of pretzels in a bowl. Set all aside until chocolate has melted.
Melt Chocolate
Use a double boiler and if you don’t have a double boiler use a medium pot and a glass bowl that will fit on top of the pot. Add about 2 cups water in the bottom pot. Place bowl on top of bottom pan and add chocolate chips and 1/2 Tablespoon lard. Bring water to high simmer to a light boil and stir chips constantly until chocolate chips have completely melted then remove from heat. If the chocolate seems to dry out gradually stir in the remaining lard.
Coat Pretzels
Once chocolate has melted dip pretzels into warm chocolate or use a spatula and spread the chocolate on the lower half of the pretzel front and back. Then dredge chocolate dipped pretzel in chopped nuts to completely cover chocolate. Place pretzel on baking sheet covered with wax paper. Continue to coat pretzels until all ingredients are gone.
