Is Watermelon Good for Dogs?
Watermelon is low in calories, low in sodium, fat free and cholesterol free making it a healthier choice for treats. So, yes, watermelon is good for dogs! Matter of fact, both you and your dog can enjoy this treat together. Watermelon makes the perfect summertime snack not only for us humans but for dogs too. What’s not good for dogs is the watermelon rind and seeds. Therefore, be sure when feeding dogs watermelon to use seedless watermelons and don’t feed your dog any of the watermelon rind as both can cause gastrointestinal blockage leading to an unexpected trip to your veterinarian.
Before introducing any new foods to your loving four legged companion, as always, be sure to check with your veterinarian.
Whether you’re using a melon baller or just cutting bite sized pieces, your dog will probably like for you to share a bite or two. One for your pup and two for you! LOL Frozen watermelon treats can be served alone or for an added treat why not add some yogurt.
Is Yogurt Safe for Dogs?
This is an excellent question as not all yogurts are safe for dogs. If planning to feed your dog yogurt please be sure it is plain yogurt and free of any added sweeteners, both natural and artificial. Be sure to read the label ingredients. Especially avoid an ingredient called xylitol as this is an artificial sweetener and is toxic for dogs.
Yogurt is a dairy product so if your dog gets gas, stomach upset, bloating, nausea, loose stools or even vomiting and diarrhea after eating even the smallest amount of milk or yogurt he or she may be lactose intolerance. Therefore, you may not want to add yogurt to your dogs diet. Again, seek the advise from your veterinarian.

Using a teaspoon drop small amounts of yogurt into the silicone mold. No need to make sure it’s in there perfect just dollop some in each slot like so. Place tray on a baking sheet for stability.
