National Lemonade Day!
Did you know there is a National Lemonade Day? Well, of course there is! And it just so happens to be in the hottest month of the year. August! August 20th is National Lemonade Day! This is usually a city community-wide event.
If you have some young children or grandchildren check out Lemonade Day as they teach kids how to start, own and operate their own lemonade stand.
If you see some neighborhood kids operating a lemonade stand please stop and support their little business and purchase a glass or two of lemonade. Hopefully, they will have used Jett’s recipe. 😉
Homemade Fresh Squeezed Lemonade
Summertime is the best time to make homemade fresh squeezed lemonade. There is seriously nothing hard about making homemade lemonade. Matter-of-fact, this is probably one of the most easiest beverages you’ll ever make.
All you need are about 10 fresh lemons. I usually buy a 3 pound bag of just plain ole regular lemons. And you will also need 2 cups of granulated sugar and 8 cups of water.
How To Squeeze Lemons For Lemonade
There are several ways to juice lemons. You can do it the hard way or the easy way.
The Hard Way
Juicing 10 lemons is not an easy task. I have tried using a reamer and a glass tabletop juicer but after about the 4th or 5th lemon my hands were pretty wore out, there was juice all over my hands and I just didn’t feel like I was able to get all the juice extracted from the lemons.
The Easy Way
In order to get the maximum juice from a lemon with little effort I highly recommend using this tabletop Citrus Juicer. Please see my video below on how this device makes juicing fruits an enjoyable process. Not only does it extract probably 99.9% of the juice but it does it in not time flat!
Adding Flavors
If you are wanting to add natural flavors to your homemade fresh squeezed lemonade place your juice in an acrylic fruit infusion pitcher filled with fresh cut fruit like strawberries, blueberries, peaches, raspberries or a fruit medley of your choice. Then add the infuser to the pitcher of juice and allow flavors to infuse naturally into the lemonade.
