Prepare a bag or two of this vegetable beef soup in a jar snack bag. Makes for a great gift too! It’s easy to put together and tastes great! Free label template included at the end of the printable recipe that includes ingredients and instructions for making this yummy soup!
So, fill a bag with all the dry ingredients, zip lock it and you’ll have a vegetable soup ready to go when you are. Just add beef broth and cooked ground beef and you’re all set for making vegetable beef soup. This recipe will serve at least six people.
These snack bags, in my opinion, are perfect for meal preparation. I like using the bag for make ahead dry soup recipes instead of using an actual jar. I never have but you could use a jar if that’s what you prefer. The nice thing about the bags is that they are reusable so they can be filled with anything and they’re dishwasher safe.

Prepare bags by opening the zip lock part first and then open the bottom flap before adding ingredients. If you’re having difficulty opening the bottom flap try inserting a wooden spoon into the bag and gently push the bottom outward.
The opening is a bit small so I use a kitchen funnel or you could use a paper bowl and bend it to put ingredients into the bag. Place ingredients into Snack Bag one ingredient at a time according to list above. So the first ingredient to go into the bag would be the dried vegetable seasoning and so on. Make sure each ingredient is level by gently shaking the bag before adding the next ingredient. When you get to the pasta it’s best to put the pasta into a small sandwich baggie and then carefully place inside the snack bag and gently press down then close the zip lock top.

In a large pot brown beef. Once beef is completely browned remove from heat then drain grease. I used a courser beef that is called chili ground beef.
Return meat to pot and add beef broth and Soup-In-A-Jar ingredients except for the pasta. Set the uncooked pasta aside. Bring ingredients to a hard boil and then turn heat to low and simmer for about one hour and a half or until rice is al-dente. Then add pasta and turn heat to medium and continue cooking for about 15 minutes more or until pasta is fully cooked.

I actually used an Avery 2 1/2″ x 4″ shipping label. I then applied the label to the back side of a Mint Julep Designer Paper to add stability, cut it out, punched a hole in the top part of the recipe card with a hole punch and also on the snack bag just above the zip lock and tied the recipe card on with ribbon. Viola!
