The Perfect Little Breakfast
If you are looking to try something different then this easy recipe for these individual baked ham and egg tarts are one of my favorite go-to’s.
I usually make these little tarts on the weekends but since they are so simple they can be made any day of the week.
Prep time is about 5 minutes and bake time ranges from 25-35 minutes depending on how you like the consistency of your eggs. I usually bake mine until the yolks are cooked and that is about 35 minutes give or take.
What You Need
- Non-stick mini pie pans
- Packaged ham (I use Buddig Brand ham or honey ham)
- Eggs (one egg for each pie pan)
- Green onions (chopped)
- Fresh grated cheese (Colby or cheddar) I use a grater like this
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Build the Crust
Line the mini pie pans with layers of ham. Place one on the bottom and then continue to add about 4 pieces to cover pan edges.
Add Ingredients
Add one egg to each mini pie pan. Sprinkle with chopped green onions, salt, pepper, and cheese.
Bake
Place mini pie pans on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 – 35 minutes or until desired egg consistency.
I usually bake mine for 35 minutes or until the yolks are fully cooked. Since egg sizes vary just keep an eye on the yolks and remove when preferred. The edges of the ham will start to dry out and get brown. Just make sure they don’t burn to a crisp.
Remove mini pie pans from oven. The crusted ham should easily remove from the pans. If the egg escaped out around the edges of the ham crust gently use a spoon to loosen. Remove from pan to a serving dish.
Enjoy!
