Refreshing Berry Infused Water

The amazing thing about this infused water is that it’s not too sweet and if you didn’t know, adding apple cider vinegar to your diet can be a good thing. Well, that’s what my mom has told me for years.

Momma has always said, “One Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (ACV) with the Mother in an 8 ounce glass of water is an all cure”. Momma has done a lot of reading in her day and I am sure that is where she got her information. Is it true? I don’t know that for a fact and I don’t even know if there is substantial research to prove that it’s good for you but momma thinks so. Maybe you’d like to read up on the benefits of ACV and see for yourself? If so, then check out this book for more information.

How To Make This Strawberry Pomegranate Apple Cider Vinegar; Berry Infused Water

Strawberry Pomegranate Cider; Berry Infused Water
I use this strawberry huller to easily remove stems off strawberries.

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 large fresh strawberries sliced with stems removed or enough to fill the infusion chamber half full
  • 8 cups filtered water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 16 ounces pomegranate juice
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (AVC) the type with the mother. Why the type with the Mother? Because not all ACV’s are equal. The ACV with the Mother is a pure version whereas the others are diluted.

Directions:

Since you just can’t go out a buy strawberry water I make my own. But first, I use a 3.5 quart acrylic fruit infusion pitcher for making the strawberry water.

Place fresh sliced strawberries in the chamber of the infuser and set aside. Add water and sugar to pitcher and stir until sugar is completely dissolved and water is clear.

Place the infuser into the acrylic pitcher. Then place the pitcher in the refrigerator and allow the infusion to take place. I usually keep the pitcher in the fridge for at least 8 hours and sometimes 24 hours to get a more intense strawberry flavor.

Remove the acrylic pitcher from the refrigerator. Remove the infuser. Add the pomegranate juice and apple cider vinegar into the pitcher and stir to combine.

Note: You can discard the strawberries or if desired continue to infuse even longer as long as the strawberries remain fresh and have not become soggy.

Serve over ice cubes and enjoy. The juice should be consumed within three to five days.

Good morning! I just got through putting together the stawberry pomegranate cider drink. Instructions were easy and I let it set overnight so this morning I finished the process in order to test the drink. The only issue I had with the drink was the apple cider vinegar was very strong in smell and taste. I added 1/4cup of Bragg organic raw unfiltered “with the mother” unpasterurized version. I did notice on your picture you had a different brand. Would that make a difference in the over powering smell and taste. I love this drink at Chipotle and I had been searching for the copycat recipe. Just curious to know if you had the same issue with the brand you had pictured in our website. Thanks

Hi Missy: I’m so sorry to hear the flavor of your water turned out too strong. I seriously don’t know if the different brand of ACV would make a difference. Maybe next time when using Braggs ACV only use 1/8 cup.
