Making crackers has never been easier than this five seed cracker recipe. Ingredients include 5 different seed types, spices and water.
Is This Seed Cracker Recipe Healthy?
I’m not going to beat around the bush but, yes, this recipe is healthy and extraordinary delicious. I never thought as describing a cracker as delicious but I just did. And it’s healthy. Who said healthy can’t taste good. You don’t know how many times I have heard someone say, “if it’s healthy I don’t like it”. Well, this recipe is healthy because it contains five different types of seeds which include pepitas, sunflower, sesame, flax and chia. There is no added oils or fats. The only other ingredients include a small amount of salt, my homemade Cajun seasoning and water. Viola! And, if you try it I think you just might like it!
Easy Five Seed Crackers Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw unsalted pepitas
- 1 cup raw unsalted sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds (you can use a combination of black and white sesame seeds if desired)
- 1/2 cup golden flax seed
- 1/4 cup organic chia seeds
- 1 Tablespoon of my Homemade Cajun Spice or favorite spice of your choice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (if your favorite spice contains salt as an ingredient do not add salt to this recipe)
- 1 1/2 cups water
Instructions:
Combine Ingredients
Place all seeds, salt and seasoning into a large bowl. Add water and stir to combine. Let sit for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
Prepare Baking Sheets
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper. Divide mixture in half and place on baking sheet covered with parchment.
Bake
Use a spatula and spread seeds out thinly and evenly on baking sheets making sure there are no open areas or holes. Bake in preheated oven for one hour.
Cut Crackers
Carefully remove baked crackers from oven and transfer the full cracker sheet to a cutting board. Use a sharp knife and gently press down to make cuts. It’s not really necessary to cut the crackers because they can easily be broken into pieces. But, if you’re anything like me and want perfectly shaped crackers then make the cut! Wink Wink! 😉
If you want crispier crackers place cut pieces back on the baking sheet and return to oven and bake for 5 more minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then turn oven off, slightly open the oven door and allow crackers to remain in the oven to cool.
Serve crackers on your favorite platter or maybe you’d like to serve them on a compostable palm leaf biodegradable plate. Store leftover crackers in a tight closed container.

I just made these crackers and after baking for an hour they are completely burnt to a crisp! 😕 I think the baking time needs to be readjusted or almost cut in half. I searched other nut/seed cracker recipes and the bake time was closer to 35/40 min. Hopefully others don’t have the same problem. That was a whole lot of wasted goodness.

So sorry to hear this Lis. I will definitely be re-testing this recipe soon.
